This announcement has been a long time in the making, ten years in fact, and marks not just the arrival of a new collection but the beginning of a new era for our Fremantle practice.
David has had his eyes on Theo since establishing his practice on Cantonment Street way back in 2003. The Belgian craftsmen perfectly encapsulate David’s idea of eyewear and what we are trying to do in Fremantle. Originally an avant-garde secret shared among design enthusiasts, Theo eyewear quickly became a statement for those unafraid to express themselves.
What began as a small handwritten note on an order form grew into a message that still defines one of Belgium’s most original eyewear creators, “Theo loves you.” Born from a spirit of warmth and imagination, Antwerp opticians Wim Somers and Patrick Hoet decided to craft frames that offered their clients something beyond the ordinary. When the first Theo designs appeared in 1989, they transformed how people thought about eyewear, turning function into expression. From the start, Theo has represented emotion, personality and joy, values that reflect everything we believe in at David Shanahan Optometrists.
