Aviation Eye Test (CASA)
Our Aviation Eye Test is comprehensive and can assist those with colour vision deficiencies to work in the industry. David has been certified as an Opthalmic examiner for pilots with The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) since 2012.
Before embarking on a journey to become a pilot or air traffic controller, it is important to have your eyes tested. Colour blindness can affect a person’s ability to work within the aviation industry. The standards for visual function are strict and colour vision is not exempt from them. It is a common misconception that a ‘colourblind’ person is not able to become a pilot or air traffic controller. Colourblindness is a broad term that refers to a wide range of conditions. Many individuals that are considered ‘colourblind’ only have difficulties distinguishing between two colours and despite their condition, comply with the CASA requirements.
We are able to provide supplementary testing in the event the initial colour vision screening test is failed. David is one of just three examiners in WA listed by CASA with Farnsworth Lantern testing facilities. For a full list of the colour vision tests we provide, please visit our Colour Vision Testing page.
We will also lodge the results directly to CASA on your behalf!
